Dairy farmers reject Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposals to increase the crop yield, according to the farmers association.
The association, representing farmers, has raised the issue at a meeting of farmers in Bengaluru.
Agriculture Secretary Vijay Narayanan had earlier announced a government initiative to increase crops yield in the state, with the aim of increasing crop yields by 15 per cent from last year.
He had also said the government would ensure a uniform rate of inflation.
The farmers association said it had received the same from the agriculture department.
The farmers association has also said it will be pushing for a government policy to ensure uniform price for all farmers, to make it more attractive for farmers to buy agricultural products.
It has also demanded that farmers be given the option of buying products from other farmers for a fixed price.
